Curious about Finland?

Want to learn about Finns, sauna, sausages and vodka?
Then Anthony Bourdain's
No Reservations Finland is perfect for you!
I'm not sure how well this represents
the average Finn, but it's fun to watch.
Enjoy!

Have a great weekend everyone!

  2. I honestly have no preconceptions about Finland, I am just curious to know more about the culture, the climate and the gardens ...

    1. Thank you Jane! This is probably not the most reliable source though. :)

  3. I've read a book by Anthony Bordain and have seen only a couple of his shows though... would know to take what he says with the proverbial 'grain of salt' knowing his world would be a bit different from mine, no matter where he is!

Where we grew up (in Eastern Washington State) there were a lot of Finnish people and my best high school girlfriend (whose parents were born in Finland) introduced me to the pleasures of a sauna (just for the girls though .. I understood that her whole family used it together normally. At least I think that's what I remember... it has been over half a century ago!).

    1. Thank you Sallie! He always finds the extremes. This is not the typical everyday stuff for sure. Families use the sauna together, but public saunas (at gyms and so on) are separate for women and men.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. I will return your visit (if I haven't visited you already), but please be patient. I might not be able to do so until the weekend. Take care!
