Great spotted woodpecker






The male is feeding the chick(s). I can't be sure, but I'm 
guessing there were several chicks because they were very noisy.
There are usually between 4 and 7 chicks.

    Vi satte visst in bilder på samma gång ikväll ,har inte sett hackspettens ungar ute i naturen ,du hade tur som fick dom så bra på bild ,kram Nette

    How delightful finding this family! The male is gorgeous and those babies poking their heads out to be fed couldn't be more adorable! great photos! An amazing find!

    This is just totally awesome Gunilla. Wow...who would guess so many to feed at once....the parents must be exhausted.

    How marvelous and that is a whole lot of woodies that will be taking in a whole lot of bugs...got to love those bug eating birds, plus they are so lovely too~
