Want to learn about Finns, sauna, sausages and vodka?
Then Anthony Bourdain's
No Reservations Finland is perfect for you!
I'm not sure how well this represents
the average Finn, but it's fun to watch.
Enjoy!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Great fun.
ReplyDeleteWell you have to do something in Winter Gunilla.
Nice Summers, great food and beautiful women what else can I say.{:))
Thank you Roy! Absolutely, we blame everything on the long dark winters!
DeleteI honestly have no preconceptions about Finland, I am just curious to know more about the culture, the climate and the gardens ...
ReplyDeleteThank you Jane! This is probably not the most reliable source though. :)
DeleteI've read a book by Anthony Bordain and have seen only a couple of his shows though... would know to take what he says with the proverbial 'grain of salt' knowing his world would be a bit different from mine, no matter where he is!
ReplyDeleteWhere we grew up (in Eastern Washington State) there were a lot of Finnish people and my best high school girlfriend (whose parents were born in Finland) introduced me to the pleasures of a sauna (just for the girls though .. I understood that her whole family used it together normally. At least I think that's what I remember... it has been over half a century ago!).
Thank you Sallie! He always finds the extremes. This is not the typical everyday stuff for sure. Families use the sauna together, but public saunas (at gyms and so on) are separate for women and men.
DeleteHi Gunilla,
ReplyDeleteNice video, I never come outside the Netherlands.
I wish you a very nice weekend.
Thank you Irma! I've seen it several times and I still think it's very funny.
DeleteUnfortunately the video is "not available" in my country, but thanks for visiting my blog in my absence.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kenneth! I'm sorry, I didn't realize it wasn't available everywhere.
