Herring gull

A juvenile herring gull in the Market Square
in Helsinki 7.10.2014.

I saw this bird during the traditional
Baltic Herring Fair which was held in the
Market Square for the 272nd time in 2014.
If you want to see more photos from the fair you
can find them in my Wordless Wednesday post.

I'm linking to I'd Rather B Birdin'.

  3. What beautiful images of the immature herring gull. We have many here in Vancouver and I love to watch them. One that I named Tupper hasn't been seen for a couple of weeks but I've been observing her (her tail is unusual) for a few years.

    1. Thank you Carol! I like gulls. Very few will stay here over the winter. I hope you'll see Tupper again soon.

  7. A lovely portraiture Gunilla. I think that we photographers sometimes neglect gulls and in fact they make excellent subject matter.
