Spring green necklace

This necklace has a stoneware clay focal from Artisan Clay. 

It's fused with recycled glass and the colors are amazing!

The other ingredients are:

clay beads from Golem Design Studio,

colored jasper

and copper.

A windy weekend

I had a wonderful weekend.

Saturday morning we all went swimming.

We had sushi and some white wine.

Lots of knitting & jewelry making.

Spent some time blog hopping and watching Simon's Cat.

Today I went for a walk in the forest with Mirja.

Hubby and Ronja had fotball practice.

Spring is slowly arriving. 

The weather is getting warmer and the snow is starting to melt. 

The birds are singing.

Dragonfly necklace

The inspiration for this necklace was the dragonfly pendant 

in sponge coral and sterling silver.

The other ingredients are dragonfly beads from Green Girls Studios,

small round sponge coral beads, oval agate beads, silver plated beads, 

pewter bead caps and a sterling silver toggle.

New necklace & scarf

This ceramic focal was bought in Suomenlinna this summer. (You can find pics here.) 

The artist called it "the home of the Christmas fly" and it was meant to be a Christmas ornament.

To me it looks like a star fish. 

The other ingredients in this necklace are ceramic beads by MaryAnn Carroll, carved wood beads and copper.

I finished my scarf. There's no fringe on this one. It's the same color as Mirja's scarf. All three scarves are made of the same soft yarn called Novita Pop (70% acrylic, 30% wool).

Happy Birthday Mom!

 Ronja made this birthday drawing, "To Granny, Happy Birthday".

 I made this necklace for my mom. She likes smaller jewelry.

 I used one of the treasure tins from Susan Faye as a gift box.

 Mirja made this card with hearts.

Yesterday we all went swimming as Mirja had swimming school. We went out for pizza afterwards. Delicious, definitely one of the best pizzas I've ever had.

Today we went to Porvoo to celebrate my mom's birthday. I had my knitting with me and I got a lot done while we sat talking. We had a really good time!

All in all we had a wonderful weekend!

Here's what I've read, traditional romance and fantasy. Patricia Briggs is one of my favorite authors. Masques is an updated version of her first book. The sequel, Wolfsbane, was her fourth book I think and it was never published until now. I started reading her books when I found the Mercy Thompson series, but I really enjoy her earlier books too.

Sunny Sunday afternoon

Most of the day was grey, but the afternoon was beautiful and sunny. We girls went on a short walk. Ronja hurt her knee in the icy school yard a couple of weeks ago and it still isn't quite well. There isn't anything wrong with her knee, it just takes a long time to heal. No football practice for her for a while yet. We had sauna after our walk and it felt heavenly!
