Barbary macaque




Barbary macaque at Korkeasaari,
the Helsinki Zoo 30.8.2014.

These monkeys live in the Atlas Mountains
in Algeria and Morocco and a small
population of unknown origin in Gibraltar.

    Thanks for your kind comment, Gunilla. Do you have Christmas markets in the region where you live as well? Or do they disguise the Barbary macace in Finland as a kind of Santa Claus!?!?!? ;-)

      Thank you Uwe! We have a lot of Christmas markets here, but I've never seen a monkey there. Everyone knows that Santa lives in Lappland. :-)
