I planted some of those about 30 years ago, but every Spring my husband when using the weed eater would cut them down when they first would appear. They were so hardy with no care even though they never got a chance to bloom, they would come back each year. Finally, last year I dug up the bulbs and put them in a safe place, and this Spring I got to enjoy my Grape Hyacinth. Yours are so lovely also. Such a pretty little flower to welcome Springtime. :)
Wonderful close ups and portraits of this sweet spring flower. We used to have it in our garden when we had one years ago. It's another one I miss these days...doesn't grow in Florida.
Grape hyacinth has always been so awesome, from the first time i saw it till now seeing them in blogs from temperate zones! I saw it just once in the mountains of Turkey!
Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. I will return your visit (if I haven't visited you already), but please be patient. I might not be able to do so until the weekend. Take care!
they are one of our first spring blooms in the yard. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Theresa! I always buy a pot of them to have on the front steps before anything else starts to bloom.

DeleteThey are so unique looking - when viewed up close they almost look like berries. (I guess that is why they're called "Grape" hyacinths!)
