Ducklings and a woodpecker

We saw the first ducklings this spring
in Suomenoja this morning: goldeneyes.

Espoonlahti: no cows yet, but we found a
great spotted woodpecker.

Double anemone in our garden.

  1. I am trying to remember whether I have ever seen a Common Goldeneye with young and I don’t think I ever have, so your pictures are especially delightful.

    1. I'm glad I could show them to you, David. The ducklings pretty much take care of themselves even if the mother is usually nearby.

  5. Hi Gunilla,
Goldeneyes we can only see during the winter months, so ducklings of this kind I have never seen. The woodpecker is a familiar bird for me. This female has given you good chances to make pictures.
The flowwrs belong to this part of the year, beautiful.
    Greetings, Kees

    1. I'm glad I could show you the goldeneye ducklings. I'm not really sure how many there were: they're always moving around and diving and it's difficult to count them.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. I will return your visit (if I haven't visited you already), but please be patient. I might not be able to do so until the weekend. Take care!
