    Great shots. American Wigeon are quite common here at this time of year. They are quite different from the ones you see in Europe.

      Thank you David! Most wigeons leave Finland between August and October, but some may stay over the winter.

    I love ducks, your shots are all so cute. The mallard looks so poufy. I like the shape of the Wigeon's heads, and their fancy feathers edged white.

    My Dad loved ducks. The ducks would arrive every morning he was a the lake without fail because they knew Dad would give them food. They were gorgeous. The side effect was catfish. When he realized the catfish was there, he trained them to come by banging a coffee can on the side of the deck. Made me laugh. But, it worked. They knew food was coming. :-)

    One thing I LOVE about this time of year is the variety of ducks I see in Lake Ontario. I think ducks are amazingly photogenic.
