Redwing

Redwings seen while walking the
Mössenkärr nature trail 24.4.2014
in Espoo Central Park.

Redwings are the smallest of Finland's thrushes.
They leave Finland in September - October
and return again in April - May.
They winter in Western Europe and
around the Mediterranean.

I'm linking to Wild Bird Wednesday.

  7. The red in their wings is very subtle ... our Redwing black birds are blatant ... that said he is a handsome bird with a lot of detail in his coloring ... Great shots, Gunilla ...

  12. Great photos! I never saw this pretty little Thrush when I was living in London - maybe it skirts around the big cities?

    1. Thank you Christian! It breeds in various kinds of forest habitats. I don't think it's as urban as some of the other thrushes.
