Hepatica is one of my favorite flowers.
It's one of the first plants to flower in the spring.
Hepatica is hardy and not scared of night frost.
In the wild hepatica only spreads through
its seeds , which are transported by ants.

ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes, I agree, anything growing is wonderful after a long winter.
DeleteBeautiful photos of this lovely flower. I love the color.I believe this is the one I have heard called Liverwort which is a not so charming name for something so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Hepatica has been used as a medicinal herb to treat liver and kidney problems, but it's actually a poison.
DeleteI love these flowers too. I did not know its name. Now, I do. I used to go down on the ground and take pictures of it with my iphone. We had such funny weather right now that I did not see much of it this year.
