  18. Look very similar to those here in Nebraska -- we are always trying to get rid of them, they grow very quickly!

  19. They look a lot like my cardoon blossoms, which are also very prickly. My regular thistles are Canadian thistles, and they are surprisingly fragrant. Your photos have great details!
