Eurasian coot




 


Sothöna (Fulica atra) - coot

Coots at Drottningholm Castle in Stockholm.
This was a new bird for me and it was a
delight to get to see them this close.
I'll show the chicks another time.

    Viscous birds they kill off their young, I always think morhens a nicer looking bird

      Thank you Bill. I think we have a few hundred moorhens in Finland, but I've never seen one. Coots are more common.
