Magpie








Skata (Pica pica) - magpie

This young magpie was jumping around under 
the chairs at the outdoor café in the Botanic garden
looking for something delicious to eat.

    Beautiful pictures of the Magpie, this bird is difficult to photograph, they are very shy.

    Nice variety of poses of this magpie. Ours in US have longer tails-- or did this one lose it?

      Thanks Ken! This was a young bird. It didn't fly, it only jumped around. I'm guessing the tail feathers hadn't grown out yet.
