Autumn in the forest

Here are the pictures from our walk in the forest on Sunday. Most of the day was cloudy, but we enjoyed our walk anyway. The sun showed itself only after we were leaving the forest and were getting ready to go home.

First weekend without any football for quite some time! Ronja had school on Saturday and the rest of us went swimming. Today we went walking in the forest. We sat by a small lake and ate sandwiches and had something warm to drink. Wonderful! We used to do this a lot more before football started taking up so much of our time. I'll show some photos later.

                                                                                    

I finally made some new jewelry this weekend. No pictures of the new pieces to show you yet. I'm pretty pleased with how the pieces turned out.

I've read a couple of books, both were a lot of fun:

• Tate Hallaway: Honeymoon of the Dead (the fifth and last book about Garnet Lacey, of course her honeymoon didn't quite go according to plans!)
• The Horror Writers Association Presents : Blood Lite (with short stories by Charlaine Harris, Kelley Armstrong, Jim Butcher...)

The Baltic Herring Fair

The traditional Baltic Herring Fair was opened on Sunday and it will last until Saturday. The weather has been gorgeous all week. There was a lot of people walking around enjoying themselves on the lunch break I went to the fair. There has been some concern that the number of fishermen coming to the fair is decreasing from year to year. I hope the fabulous weather means their sales will be good too. I can't wait to see what kind of new herring delicacies they come up with next year!

Class reunion in Porvoo

We spent the weekend in Porvoo. The girls were with my parents. I got to celebrate the 20th anniversary of our class at Borgå Gymnasium. We had a chance to visit our old school. BoGy underwent extensive renovations about three years ago. Everything's new and it was difficult to recognize it as the same school. We went out to dinner together afterwards and had a really good time. I haven't seen most of my class mates since we graduated. There was a lot of catching up to do!
