This female mallard was sitting practically on
the path around the basins at Suomenoja.
She was protecting her ducklings furiously
against other ducks, but she didn't seem to
mind the human admirers at all.
I'm not sure how many ducklings she
had, but I'm sure there were at least nine.
I was told that this is the only teal family at
Suomenoja this summer. They had ten
little ducklings. I had trouble getting any
photos of them because they were very fast.
