It didn't stay long and sadly these are
the best photos I managed to get of it.
Enjoy your weekend!

ReplyDeleteHello Gunilla, I love the dragonfly. And cool shots of the Hawk visitor. Great critters and photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI really like your first photo of the dragonfly. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteHawks are extremely difficult to capture - you did a great job!
ReplyDeleteWe have lots of squirrels, but I've never seen one gathering up materials to build a nest!
ReplyDeletecute little squirrel. :)
ReplyDeleteI imagine the moss would make the squirrel's nest soft and cozy inside. Nice pictures!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a Downey Emerald female Gunilla.
ReplyDeleteHello Gunilla!:) Thank you for your kind visit. What a great selection of critters. I would love to see a halk in my garden, and what a treat to see a squirrel collecting moss, something I have never seen, great capture.
ReplyDeletenice and what was in claw??
ReplyDeleteThank you! I think it had a bird in its claws.
DeleteGreat shot of the dragonfly, Gunilla, it does have a rather green abdomen. I haven't seen many this summer here. I see the squirrels more in the winter when they want to come eat the bird seed. I hear a hawk frequently but rarely see it, much less get a photo, so it's wonderful to see yours, with lunch even!
ReplyDeleteExtraordinary images. And to have the hawk stop by with lunch 'in hand' is terrific.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by this weekend and linking up at I'd Rather B Birdin'!!!

ReplyDeleteWonderful shots of dragon fly and hawk.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots - we have so many species of dragonfly here that I find confident ID almost impossible!

I love to see dragonflies. Cute squirrel preparing for winter and a great sight to see an hawk so close up. I wish you a great week!
ReplyDeleteI have yet to see a dragonfly this season, yours is beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteat least you saw the hawk. I have not even seen one this season :(
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos, the hawk is great.
ReplyDeleteFantastic photos of these critters.
ReplyDeleteBest, Synnöve
Amazing photos! I love the dragonfly!
ReplyDeleteSweet ... You have great nature right in your own backyard. I guess the hawk didn't want you to watch him eating lunch, but you got some great pictures before he devoured his prey!
ReplyDeleteLovely shots from your beautiful yard. Hope you have a great week ahead!
ReplyDeletethe squirrel is my favorite picture, it's soo cute. I am not so fan of insects, :) !
ReplyDeleteGreat that you know the Emerald Dragonfly foot grave to honor. I've never had this before my lance unfortunately. The squirrel is also really nice and the hawk is a good catch!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos Gunilla :) When I was out yesterday I saw dozens of dragonflies flying around but did not get a photo as nice as this one. Great detail.
ReplyDeleteHi! Many critters in your backyard. The squirrel photo is very cute. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSquirrels just don't seem real to me, we don't get them here in Australia although I did see one for just a moment at the zoo. It never occurred to me wonder about their nesting habits. Moss would be quite comfortable.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great privilege to have such a range of nature right in your own yard.
