These are old photos from
my archives.
They were taken at Korkeasaari
(Helsinki Zoo) and
they were taken through glass.
The grass snake (natrix natrix)
is non-venomous.

Cool looking snake, I would mind them being behind the glass. Great shots! Happy Weekend!

DeleteWhat cool photos! I actually really like snakes (well, the non-venomous one :-) I used to catch small garter snakes to observe for a short time when I was a kid and we always seemed to have black snakes sunning on our porch :-)

DeleteHe/she certainly has some wonderful markings on his face!
ReplyDeleteThank you Carletta!
DeleteSå länge dom är bakom glas kan ormar vara ganska fascinerande. Du tycks ha fångat den här ormens uppmärksamhet!
ReplyDeleteDet är kanske inte så många som sätter näsan fast i glaset och tittar på den!
DeleteThis snake is a beautiful color! I don't mind watching snakes when they are behind glass ;)

DeleteHi Gunilla. Somehow I missed you last week. Oh dear I don't like snakes. They give me chills even through glass and even non-venomous.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I do appreciate how very lovely they are. And, this one is very pretty.
I wonder if the term Pretty Poison comes from the snake world? It seems the more venomous sometimes the more beautiful they will have. Hummmm...just curious. I hope you had a great week and I wil see you later today I hope!
Hi Jackie. Thank you for visiting.
